Raiders Reign Over Sidney High School

On December 15, 1967, the Sidney Maroons sacrificed more than 25 years of tradition and adopted the title of SIDNEY RED RAIDERS.  The change, prompted by a suggestion from the athletic department, was under consideration by the student government for over three months. 

Coinciding with the name change came the alteration of the school colors.  Maroon and black was replaced by red and white.  The original sketch of the propsed mascot was submitted by Ron Linemann.  This entry was the winner of the school sponsored mascot contest and has now become the first official symbol of the Sidney High School.
